London : Happy or Grief?

  LONDON | JANUARY 22nd 2023 It has always been a dream to go overseas and be in cold-weather country (at least once!). It still remains as a dream until 'the thing' happened which turned out to be the reason to my recent existence in the rhetorical place (read, London). I cannot precisely describe on how I felt to know that I will be going there in less than 2 weeks. Was it happy or sad or thrilled or what. I don't know! Oh ya, just to clear up thing, this short trip was initially made as a present for my birthday and it was fully sponsored by *** (Allah bless you). OK, continue. So, that night I received a message from my husband telling that he got the tickets for us to London and asked me to settle the leave & the acknowledgement form (government thingy) soonest possible. Settled.  2 weeks preparation did not make any of us ready.

Buku Kajian Wacana dan Strategi Komunikasi: Teori dan Aplikasi yang dihasilkan oleh pensyarah UPM iaitu Prof. Dr. Normaliza Abd Rahim mengandungi tujuh bab keseluruhannya. Buku yang diterbitkan oleh penerbit UMT ini hanya berharga RM20.00. Ia juga merupakan sumber terbaharu bagi rujukan wacana dimana ia diterbitkan pada tahun 2019 dan juga merupakan sumber pengajian dalam kelas BBN 3402 Terjemahan Berbantukan Komputer. Buku ini mengandungi penyelidikan yang meliputi kajian mengenai lirik lagu, cerita, ujaran dan interaksi dalam perbualan kanak-kanak. Justeru ia amat sesuai dijadikan sebagai bahan rujukan terutamanya dalam bidang pedagogi. Secara ringkasnya, Bab 1 menerangkan mengenai kajian wacana secara menyeluruh yang merangkumi definisi juga konsep wacana. Manakala Bab 2 pula menerangkan teori dan pendekatan wacana berdasarkan lima teori utama dalam wacana termasuklah dari dalam dan luar negara. Seterusnya, Bab 3 membincangkan analisis wacana tekstual dan ujaran terhadap tiga kajian wacana. Selepas itu, Bab 4 pula mengandungi pengenalan terhadap strategi komunikasi. Manakala Bab 5 pula membincangkan perihal taksonomi dan pendekatan strategi komunikasi. Setiap senarai taksonomi dan pendekatan dihuraikan ditunjukkan dalam bab ini. Kemudian, Bab 6 yang membincangkan strategi komunikasi dalam kalangan kanak-kanak dianalisis menggunakan taksonomi strategi komunikasi. Akhir sekali, Bab 7 yang merangkumi kesimpulan bagi keseluruhan bab serta cadangan bagi kajian akan datang. 

 Discourse studies and Communication strategy: Theory and Application by Prof. Dr. Normaliza Abd Rahim comprises of 7 chapters respectively. It was published in 2019 by UMT publication with only RM20.00. It is used as a latter reference in BBN 3402 class. This book comprises studies on songs lyrics, story, speech and interactions in children's conversations. Thus, it contributes much on pedagogical field. In brief, Chapter 1 provides a detail insight towards discourse studies that includes definition of discourse and also its concepts. Meanwhile, Chapter 2 provides theories and approaches to discourse based on 5 main discourse theories from both external and internal scholars. Next is Chapter 3 where it discusses textual discourse analysis and speech on three discourse studies. Furthermore, Chapter 4 consists of introduction to communication strategy. While Chapter 5 discusses on taxonomy and communication strategy approaches. Every list of taxonomy and approaches was elaborated in details in this chapter. Besides, Chapter 6 discusses on communication strategies among children were analysed using communication strategy taxonomy. Last but not least, Chapter 7 summarize of all chapters and suggestions for future research.
